PETALING JAYA – The Sultan of Johor recently shared a wedding anniversary post on his Facebook page.

Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's marriage to Permaisuri of Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris is now 41 years old.

The two were married on September 22, 1982.

They have been blessed with six children; Tunku Ismai, Tunku Idris Iskandar, Tunku Abdul Jalil who passed away in 2015, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tunku Abu Bakar Iman and Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

The anniversary post garnered over 400 comments as Facebook users congratulated the couple on their marriage. 

Sultan Ibrahim is also next in line for the role of Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

In an interview with Bernama, he expressed his readiness to fulfil his national duties for the country and people.

“It is not a promotion. It is a responsibility I am prepared to undertake on behalf of my brother Rulers," he was quoted as saying.

The reign of the current Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah of Pahang, is expected to conclude by the end of January 2024. – The Vibes, September 2023
