DATUK Farhash Wafa Salvador, a former political secretary to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, today said he will file a police report against the chief of Bersatu’s Youth wing for allegedly implicating him in claims of attracting opposition MPs to back the prime minister.

In a statement, Farhash said that he also reserves his right to file a defamation suit against Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for slandering him by associating him with such efforts.

He said that he vehemently denounces and denies the “untrue and baseless” accusations, which he described as “defamatory”, being levelled against him.

“I do not have any knowledge of the untrue and unfounded allegations by Wan Fayhsal,” he said today.

Farhash added that he has not been involved in the political scene for a long time, and is just living his life as a businessman.

“I don’t understand why brother Wan Fayhsal has hurled such slander against me with the intention of bringing down my reputation and honour for his political interests.”

Earlier today, Wan Fayhsal, who is also Machang MP, had claimed during a press conference in parliament that there were two individuals responsible for attracting the support of opposition representatives to Anwar.

According to Wan Fayhsal, the individuals involved are known as “Datuk Botak” and the other is a former political secretary.

Four Bersatu MPs have over the past month declared their backing for Anwar, stressing that they were doing so to help their constituents, and help enable much-needed development and funding for their respective areas.

They are Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman, Jeli MP Zahari Kechik, and Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim.

It was reported today that the three of them had their seating in the Dewan Rakyat changed.

The Star reported that Suhaili, Zahari and Azizi are now seated away from their colleagues in Bersatu and the Perikatan Nasional coalition.

They are now assigned seats behind Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who earlier this year also withdrew his support for the ruling unity government led by Anwar.

However, Iskandar is still seated in the same position as before.

The Bersatu disciplinary board had suspended Iskandar and Suhaili for four and six years respectively on grounds that the duo had breached the party’s constitution by their moves. – The Vibes, November 14, 2023
