MALAYSIANS were anxious to know if they would be eligible for handouts after being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said our nation is going through an unprecedented crisis, with no references on how it should be dealt with.

It is only wise for the Perikatan Nasional government to be receptive to any input from the opposition during the Budget 2021 debate to ensure the economic recovery and trajectory becomes a reality.

The added allocation of RM1 billion to prevent a fresh wave of Covid-19 is great. However, some of the other proposed initiatives must be refined to make them inclusive, for all, and not just a select few.

The Budget allocation of RM322.5 billion has raised concern due to the unrealistic figures that do not reflect the nation’s economic state.

Our hope now is for opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other parliamentarians to provide clarity through the debate. – The Vibes, November 8, 2020
