I HAVE known Mother Mangalam all my life, and loved her.

She was close to my parents who adored and respected her. Her selflessness to all regardless of race, religion, or status was not just special but, in this day and age, also quite magical.

And absolutely awe-inspiring. She gave the most powerful thing to anyone that went to her.

She gave hope. And she lived and acted as the living conduit of Hope.

Though physically diminutive, she was a true Malaysian giant.

I am heartbroken because I didn’t get a chance to see her one last time before she passed away

But as I sit here in Chennai awaiting a heart transplant, I know she’s watching over me, and without question she is watching over Malaysia.

Our political leaders, I hope, will take a leaf out of Mother Mangalam’s life – give hope and inspire our nation out of ignorance and hate.

I will miss her very much. But her Hope will continue to shine brightly.

We just have to look and follow. – The VIbes, June 11, 2023
