SAQINA Latif and Buddy Anwardi join Datuk Kamil and Manvir this week to share their disappointment with the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). The attitude of its officials has left them with a distaste for local organisations.

Their company, Persona Theory Games, which was set up in 2017 and also part of the team that created the popular game "Sara Is Missing", presented their ideas to several local organisations and were not taken seriously.

This led to them continuing to press on and eventually being funded by global games fund Wings Interactive.

As they received this lifeline from abroad, new games with cultural storylines that focus on and promote Asian culture and values have emerged as they planned.

In the immediate future, "Kabaret" is being completed and on this podcast, you will hear more about the inspirations and stories that we in Malaysia will recognise better.

The emergence of a whole new game genre from Malaysia and Asia is commendable. Hopefully, local organisations will now wake up and see the potential within our very own country that those outside have already noticed.
