DR Ganesh Vythilingam and Dr Hans Mattias Larsson are partners who met while working in Europe.
This was a very chance meeting and the story of how and why they met is definitely one for the history books.
As they share the amazing work that is being done with a fantastic research team based in Universiti Malaya, we can understand better what it takes to achieve innovation on this global scale.
Together they founded Regenosca, a Switzerland-based start-up that is developing a safe and body-friendly implant that allows surgeons to successfully reconstruct the urethra.
Their vision is to develop a less invasive and less painful intervention for urethral reconstruction surgery. They have successfully done this in collaboration with researchers in Malaysia through an R&D lab at University of Malaya.
Two patients with urethral stricture were successfully implanted with the bioengineered graft at University of Malaya Medical Centre on August 14.
Join us this week as we learn more about this collaboration and what it aims to do medically and how it can save someone you may know from terrible pain and suffering.
