HOW have the newly minted Ministers done in their first week in Putrajaya?
The Good the Bad and the Ugly team discusses the hits and misses of the new Unity Government in this week's podcast.
PETRA News chief executive Datuk Zainul Ariffin Mohamed Isa, executive director Datuk Ahirudin Attan (better known as Rocky Bru) and editor-in-chief Terence Fernandez believe civil servants should not be spooked each time there is a new Government.
With the replacement of the Secretary General of the Treasury Datuk Asri Hamidin, there are fears that the new government could be going back on its word of not launching a political witch hunt.
Fernandez also revealed that another Secretary General will be sent to the pool soon.
Zainul concurred by saying that the announcements of the movement of civil servants should be made by the Chief Secretary to the Government and not Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
However Anwar received kudos for getting down to work immediately after his swearing in, attending to the cost of living issue before it becomes a bigger crisis.
Rocky meanwhile touched on new Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil meeting with TikTok to take down over 1,000 posts that could be regarded as inflammatory and seditious.
The President of the National Press Club believes this is veering on censorship and said this is the right time to discuss the long shelved National Media Council.
