KUALA LUMPUR – In lieu of the recent announcement for a Movement Control Order (MCO) by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Wai Ching’s Malaysia Book of Records attempt will just have to wait.

Both Malaysia Towerrunning Association and Technogym Malaysia as co-organisers have decided that in support of the government’s declaration, the TNB Record-Breaking Night will be postponed to a better-suited date.

Despite feeling downcast by this sudden change of plans, especially after mentally and physically preparing himself for the big day, Guinness World Records holder, Soh Wai Ching, acknowledges the support from Technogym Malaysia.

Lester Francis, the Country Manager of Technogym Malaysia adds, “We’ve always been proud to work with local athletes and help them achieve their goals in their respective sport. Technogym has always been synonymous with performance training; hence, Technogym Malaysia gladly supports Wai Ching’s road to breaking three records in one night as he trains on our brand new EXCITE LIVE CLIMB — and we look forward to this happening once the Movement Control Order has been lifted.”

Wai Ching has been training on Technogym Malaysia’s latest Excite Live Climb machine 4 times weekly from December last year at their showroom in Bangsar.

However, the hope remains strong that these attempts will spark the fire in citizens to live a healthier life.

“Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally, is crucial at this time to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. I hope the condo gyms will still be allowed to open even if it’s for a single user only,” added Vice President of Malaysia Towerrunning Association, Mr. Ravinder Singh. ─ The Vibes, 12 January, 2021
