Klete Keller made an appearance among the mob that was incited by current U.S. President Donald Trump as an effort to impede the certification of Joe Biden’s victory.

Keller, the five-time Olympic medalist and one-time teammate of fellow swimmer Michael Phelps, was identified by members of the swimming community in the crowd that breached the U.S. Capitol.

His cameo appearance became the talk of the town when his six-foot-six height and Team USA jacket was spotted among the crowd, by former teammates and coaches.

Upon being identified, Keller has been reported and has been asked to be stripped of his Olympic medals.

However, the International Olympic Committee nor the governing body for competitive swimming in the U.S., USA Swimming, has not responded to fellow media for comments.

The recognized support of Trump, Keller, who worked at a real estate firm in Colorado Springs, has resigned from his position and his profile has been taken down from the website since then.

Hoff & Leigh, the real estate firm, without addressing Keller’s specifically, came out with a statement saying, “Hoff & Leigh supports the right of free speech and lawful protest but we cannot condone actions that violate the rule of law.”

Keller has since deleted his social media accounts.  - Agency, January 13, 2021
