LIVERPOOL – Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would “ideally” like to add a couple more signings to his squad before the end of the transfer window.

At the moment, Reds have only signed left back Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiakos after allowing centreback Deja Lovren to move to Zenit St Petersburg for a similar price.

Liverpool remain strongly linked with a move for the Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, while Watford wide man Ismaila Sarr is also said to be on their radar.

Klopp works closely with Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and FSG president Mike Gordon, and no first team transfer will be completed without all three men agreeing on all details of the deal.

Which is one of the reasons Liverpool have been ‘thrifty’ in the transfer market compared to clubs like Chelsea. – The Independent, September 19, 2020.
