BREATH. Honestly, I Googled the word so I could sound smart on my very first column.

We know what it means. Breath is a noun that refers to a full cycle of breathing.

It can also refer to the air that is inhaled and exhaled.

Every system in the body relies on oxygen. From cognition to digestion, effective breathing can not only provide you with a greater sense of mental clarity, it can also help you sleep better, digest food more efficiently, improve your body's immune response, and reduce stress levels. Yada, yada, yada.

Also, I found a lot of explanations on the difference between breath and breathe.

Breath to me is LIFE. If connected with the movements of your body, breath can be the most valuable thing you own.

Each of us are different, and this can be measured by our breath lengths, pace and rhythm just like our fingerprints. They set us apart.

We always take our breaths for granted as they are always there even when we are in a coma, let alone sleep, but we always forget to take care of our breaths.

How do we do that though? And why do we need to do that?

Everything stems from your breath. Your heart rate, your pulse, your state of mind can be regulated by just breathing right.

In this video, I am sharing an amazing breathing technique called Ujjayi.

It comes from Sanskrit’s “ud” (उद्) and “ji” (जि). “Ujji” (उज्जि), means “to be victorious”.

Ujjayi (उज्जायी), thus, means “one who is victorious”.

Ujjayi breath means “victorious breath”.

I do this all the time when I’m anxious and when I have problems sleeping. I also do this not just on the yoga mat but also off the mat. Let’s try it out. – The Vibes, September 30, 2020
