KUALA LUMPUR – All Liga Malaysia team including players, coaches and non-playing staff are required to undergo the Health Ministry’s Home Surveillance Order (HSO) the moment they arrive at the international entry point (PMA).

This applies to Sabah and Melaka United who are travelling to the Peninsular after they play a match in Likas, Kota Kinabalu on Sunday.

Sabah will have to travel to Johor Bahru to play against JDT at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, while Melaka will play Kedah, with both matches on Oct 2.

Melaka State Health and Anti-Drugs Committee chairman Rahmad Mariman said this is in line with those who had a travelling history to Sabah.

“They will have to undergo the HSO until their COVID-19 test returns negative,” he said.

“Should they develop symptoms such as breathing difficulty in the 14-day period from the time they return, they would need to undergo a repeat screening at the health clinic.”

On Saturday, Director General of Health Ministry, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that individuals who arrived from Sabah must undergo screening at the international entry point beginning Sunday until Oct 10.

He said all individuals arriving at the PMA will also be given the HSO letter and a quarantine bracelet.

Since the announcement is in short notice, there is a possibility that Malaysian Football League (MFL) may reschedule Sabah vs JDT and Melaka vs Kedah to a new date as they need to wait for the COVID-19 test results. – Football Tribe, September 29, 2020
