The First #RUNwithOLYMPIANS #RUNforOLYMPISM Virtual Run

MALAYSIA Olympians Association (MOA) and Malaysia Olympism in Action Society (MOiAS) are debuting their first co-host virtual run - #RUNwithOLYMPIANS #RUNforOLYMPISM nationwide on 1st until June 22, 2021.

The objective of the run is to support our Malaysian Olympians who are going to compete in Tokyo 2020, in conjunction with the celebration of Olympic Day on June 23. MOA & MOiAS would also like to take this opportunity to educate the public about the Olympism spirit and to encourage Malaysians to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

This fun run is a virtual team effort to finish a minimum accumulated total of 127km within the 22 days aforementioned. Each team must consist a minimum of 2 and up to 15 persons with a minimum threshold of 5km per person.

The total of 127km was selected to mark and celebrate the establishment of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, father of the Modern Olympics.

The public has the option to form its own group or to join a group which will be led by a mystery Malaysian Olympian who will be announced on 1st June 2021. MOA and MOiAS are encouraging participants from all ages to join in this virtual run; those under 18 years of age are advised to seek consent from their parents or guardian/s.

Teams that complete a minimum of 127km will be eligible for a lucky draw. Attractive prizes sponsored by our generous sponsors and partners await the lucky winners.

Registration for the event will start on 1st May until 7th June 2021. To join the event, participants can visit www.getbiib.com/events, register to participate for a small fee of RM50 which will entitle the participant to a Dry Fit Event T-Shirt.

With each registration, RM5 will be donated to Epic Homes, an organisation that aims to build relationships between the urban and rural divide through the act of building homes for underprivileged communities, currently focusing on the indigenous people of Peninsular Malaysia, the Orang Asli. The first 200 participants to register will also receive a 2 litre BiiB dry bag.

Endorsed by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports, the virtual run will be flagged off by our Youth and Sports Minister Dato’ Sri Reezal Merican Naina Merican on June 1, 2021.

The lucky draw and closing ceremony will be held virtually on Olympic Day, June 23, 2021. - The Vibes. April 30, 2021
