MELAKA - Melaka United FC chief coach Zainal Abidin Hassan has told his charges to pull up their socks, saying they lost 1-3 to Kedah FC at Stadium Hang Jebat last night because they could not absorb the pressure from their opponents.
He said the Melaka United defence was a letdown as the team slumped to their third straight defeat in the Super League. "After falling behind by a goal in the first half, they came back to equalise and were even dominating. But they fell apart and conceded goals in the second half through careless mistakes.
"I’ve reminded them many times not to let their guard down, as we know it’s not easy to score goals. I want them to give a more spirited display in the next match,” he told reporters after the match.
Kedah coach Aidil Sharin Sahak was pleased with his team’s performance, as Melaka United had given them a good fight. Kedah are second in the table with 23 points while Melaka United remain on eighth spot with 10 points. - Bernama. May 1, 2021
