KUALA LUMPUR - The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) today announced the list of nine individuals handpicked by the FAM President, Datuk Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin, to form the FAM Presidential Task Force (PTF).

In line with Datuk Haji Hamidin’s announcement during the 57th FAM Congress in Putrajaya on March 13, 2021, and its subsequent approval in the first FAM Executive Committee meeting for the new term a week later, PTF serves as a platform for individuals outside the football circle to contribute ideas in developing the game.

The nine selected comprise corporate captains, leaders from government-linked companies, legal practitioners, academicians, a fan representative, media personnel and a member of  royalty.

In compiling the necessary input, PTF has the right to convene sessions, meetings or discussions with the various stakeholders in the football industry.

A brief profile of the nine individuals is as follows:

1.  Abdul Jalil Abdul Rasheed

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Berjaya Corporation Berhad.  Previously, the youngest CEO in the history of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).

2.  Tengku Salehuddin Shah Al-Haj Tengku Sulaiman Shah Al-Haj

Better known as Tengku Bib, Tengku Salehuddin Shah is the Tengku Indera Bijaya of the Selangor royal family.

3.  Datuk Ruzain Idris

Director General of the Malaysian Broadcasting Department since October 2020. Previously Director of Selangor State Development in the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister's Office.

4.  Khairul Kamarudin

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad. Vastly experienced in the field of banking, having served Bank Islam for 13 years before joining Bank Muamalat in 2019.

5.  Dr. Mohd Bahrin Othman

Senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam since 2000 and former legal practitioner. Served as the Deputy President of UiTM FC from 2010 - 2019 and is currently a Board Member of UiTM FC.

6.  Muhammad Tarmizi Abdul Aziz

Fondly known as Mizi, Tarmizi is one of the prime movers of Ultras Malaya. Works in the oil and gas industry, he is currently pursuing a Masters’ degree in engineering management.

7.  Prof. Dr. Sivamurugan Pandian

Lecturer at the School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang and a member of the USM Senate. A political analyst who is also a member of the think tank for the Ministry of National Unity and a Member of the National Agriculture Advisory Council. He was also elected as a Patriotic Icon for National Day in 2016 and 2017.

8.  Ooi Kin Fai

Deputy Editor at Goal.com Malaysia since 2016, Kin Fai has spent eight years in sports journalism. Prior to becoming a journalist, the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) graduate had been an engineer for seven years before switching fields in 2013.

9.  Dr. Wirdati Mohd Radzi

Sports law practitioner, who is a senior lecturer at the Centre for Sports and Exercise Sciences, University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur. She was the Sports Commissioner from 2019 - 2020 and currently the chairman of the MFL Club Professionalisation Task Force since January 2021.

FAM wishes for the PTF members to offer solutions and fresh ideas in FAM’s bid to gather input from representatives outside the usual circle of football stakeholders.

The establishment of the PTF illustrates FAM's openness in accepting divergent views to develop the game and industry further.
