KOTA KINABALU – Officials and players from the Sabah Football Club have completed their second dose of the Pfizer vaccines today.

It was understood that the players and officials were given their first dose on June 2.

Sabah chief coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto said that the vaccination was important as the M-League is scheduled to start next month but it also depends if the National Security Council (NSC) gives the green light.

“The vaccine is important to ensure that the herd immunity is achieved. Once the pandemic is under control, the M-League can restart,” he said when contacted today.

Kurniawan added, now that the players have been fully vaccinated, they will feel safer to play the upcoming matches.

“The players are currently training at the Sabah Football Association field. We have been undergoing centralised training sessions here since June 7. The players are optimistic about the restart of the M-League and are making the best of the current situation.

Sabah’s last match before it was paused was against Kedah Darul Aman FC at the Likas Stadium on May 8. Sabah were defeated 1-0. - The Vibes, June 23, 2021.
