Six things you need to know before starting B-Strong programme

IF you are new to exercising, getting into this journey might make you feel nervous. Many might have doubts and questions about themselves like; Can I do this? Am I strong enough? Will I fail?

Sit back and relax. All these questions are completely normal. While there is no such thing as one size fits all kind of fitness programmes, B-Strong is carefully created for beginners, and options are provided for those who are familiar with exercising. However, here are some of the things that you might need to know.

1. Check your health (health condition, pregnancy, injuries etc.)

This is the most important bit before starting your fitness journey. If you have had any injuries, disorders, or you are pregnant, please get a clearance from your doctor before continuing with this programme.

2. Determine what is your goal

With everything you do, if you want to see results, you must have a clear-cut goal. Whether it is weight loss or to be stronger, there is no right or wrong goal. This is your space. This is your workout. Once you know what your goals are, you know your progress and you know what to do next. Start with realistic goals and work from there. Always note down your progress and give yourself a pat in the back (or rewards!) once you have achieved your goal even if it is a small one.

3. You are determined, committed, and disciplined

When you decide to follow a programme, it is like signing a contract. It is a promise to yourself not to give up no matter how hard things get. It is ok to go slow, but do not give up. Be determined, be committed. You have got this!

4. Take it slow

Especially if you are a beginner, do not put too much pressure on yourself. Whether you want to lose weight or be lean, all these take time. Do not beat yourself up if you cannot see results within the desired time. Many of us take months to see a big result! Look at it in a bigger picture. Maybe your waist measurement is getting smaller? Or energy levels are increasing? Take all that into account!

5. It is not all about the workout but also about what you eat

What you consume from the kitchen plays a very important role in this journey. To be stronger, you need to have carbohydrates. But too much carbohydrates can lead to weight gain. So, dig deeper on your food consumption. But at the same time, do not starve yourself, and eat what you want, but in moderation. Eat that ice cream that you love, those pasta can be good for you if you are not eating too much. Food is not your enemy.

6. Have fun!

At the end of the day, it is all about you. All workouts should make you happy. If it does not, play your favourite music, wear your favourite colours, workout with your favourite person. When you feel happy, you produce endorphins, creating great results, and great results make you happier. So, guys, have a lot of fun, ok? – The Vibes July 14, 2021
