Tokyo – Malaysian mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying's Tokyo dream ended today when they were defeated 21-12, 21-15 by Germany’s pair Mark Lamfuss-Isabel Herttrich at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza.

This was their second consecutive defeat in the group stage after being humbled by Hong Kong pair Tang Chun Man- Tse Ying Suet last night. Peng Soon – Liu Ying lost 18-21, 21-10, 16-21.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying committed too many mistakes, which saw the German pair, ranked 15th in the world outclass the Malaysians in 41 minutes.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying stay bottom of Group D and will next play world number two Wang Yilyu-Huang Dongping of China in the final group match but their hopes to enter the last eight of the Tokyo Olympics has ended. - Bernama July 25, 2021.
