DATO Azizulhasni Awang brought home another medal for Malaysia from the recent Tokyo Olympics.
Winning the silver in the men’s keirin not only makes him one of the few athletes to have more than one Olympic medal but also earns him a spot in the 2021 national record books.
Dato Azizulhasni aka “pocket rocketman” has been accorded the title “First to Win Silver Medal in Olympic Games (Cycling)” by The Malaysia Book Of Records (MBR) for his achievement at the recent Olympics.
“Our vision is to serve as the source of inspiration for Malaysia and Dato Azizulhasni’s passion, dedication and hard work to get him to where he is today is the essence of the Malaysia Boleh spirit.” said Jwan Heah, marketing director for MBR.
“It is our honour and privilege to present this national record title to Dato Azizulhasni for his achievement” added Jwan.
This is not the first time Dato Azizulhasni will be featured in the national record books, his stellar performance at the Rio Olympics saw him bringing home Malaysia’s first Olympic bronze in cycling.
“Dato Azizulhasni’s humble personality coupled with his never-give-up attitude is admirable and can be seen through his continued improvement on the track. We strive to recognise such individuals in the hope it encourages Malaysians to push themselves and make Malaysia extraordinary.”
