ZHANG Yufei who blazed the pool at the Tokyo Olympics put on a stirring performance at the China National Games to win the 200m butterfly.

China's ace who won the gold in Tokyo with a new Olympic record was far from her best this time although it was still too much for her opponents.

Posting a time of 2:05.84s was enough for her win although she managed 2:03.86 at the Olympics, a time that would have seen her miss the podium in Tokyo.

The men's 100m freestyle final was an enthralling affair as little separated the top three finishers. Top spot was taken by He Junyi in 48.51s followed by Yang Jintang and Pan Zhanie.

In other finals, Zhang Ziyang won the men’s 800m freestyle in 7:51.86s while Qin Haiyang captured the 200m breast gold for the men in 2:09.01. - Agencies, September 25, 2021
