TIGER Woods and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the richest and most recognised faces in the world of sports.

The net worth of both these players are well...staggering as Woods was reported in 2018 by Forbes to have earned at least £1 billion (RM5.66 billion) since turning professional with 90% of the earnings coming from endorsements.

His current net worth is touted to be around £590million.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, is reported to have earned £363 million in the 16 seasons he has been playing professionally via career earnings, sponsorship deals and investments.

Woods, the highest earning golfer ever, who is currently recuperating from a car crash in February still remains a top earner this year.

36-year-old Ronaldo earned a total of just over £88 million in the proceeding year (£51 million salary and £37 million in endorsements).

In the decade 2010-2019, Ronaldo was only behind Floyd Mayweather Jr whose total earnings was around £590 million.

Going by those estimates, Woods has a net worth of £227 million more than Ronaldo, but that gap could well be closing due to the Portuguese forward's new bumper contract with Manchester United.

Despite the peak of his fame coming during the early 2000s, Woods remains a big player in the sporting world and appeared on the 2020 highest earners list.

With Woods and Ronaldo making most of their money through endorsements, tthey could surpass the billionaire barrier that boxer Floyd Mayweather claims he has. - Agencies, October 4, 2021
