KUALA LUMPUR - The Sports Commissioner’s Office (PJS) has denied issuing any statement verifying or recognising any party in leading the Perak Football Association (PAFA).
PJS said so far, they have not received any report on the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) organised by 14 PAFA affiliates last Sunday (Dec 19).
The statement was issued following a newspaper report yesterday claiming PJS has recognised the EGM and ruled that the dismissal of 12 members of the association’s coalition was invalid as it was unconstitutional.
“The claim is untrue. It is appropriate for PJS to review the report before making any decision,” it said in a statement today.
However, PJS confirmed receiving a visit from the Perak Malay Football Association representing PAFA affiliates to lodge a complaint on the dismissal of affiliates on Dec 9, which according to them was unconstitutional.
In this regard, a meeting was conducted last Monday (Dec 2) to enable PJS to seek clarification and obtain supporting documents from the relevant parties to verify the allegations.
PJS also reminded parties involved in any dispute against issuing misleading statements and to always refer to them to get accurate information. - Bernama, December 24, 2021
