KUALA LUMPUR – Kedah leapfrogged Perak into second place in the Super League after beating Sabah 3-1 at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Cheras, last night.
The third consecutive victory recorded by Aidil Sharin Sahak’s side since the competition resumed last month sees Lang Merah squad now with 16 points.
Kedah was made to work for the points at the neutral venue as Sabah was also after a win themselves to get out of the relegation zone.
Import striker, Kpah Sherman put Kedah ahead with a header in the 26th minute, but Thai-German Dennis Buschening equalised through a close-range shot just a minute later.
Two goals by Kedah in a four-minute blitz in the second half of the match through import player Kipre Tchetche and Mohammad Fayadh Mohd Zulkifli Amin secured them the victory.
The match between the two sides was supposed to take place at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar, last Saturday, but it had to be postponed following the implementation of the administrative Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in 28 districts in Kota Setar, Kedah until this Friday. – Bernama, September 22, 2020
