KUALA LUMPUR – Spectators who were injected with Sinovac as their primary vaccine will be required to take a booster shot if they wish to watch 2022 Malaysian League matches in stadiums, announces the Malaysian Football League (MFL).

In a statement today, MFL chief executive officer Stuart Ramalingam says they were informed of the renewed SOPs from the Youth and Sports Ministry, stating that those who received Sinovac as their primary vaccine will be required to get a booster dose to maintain their complete vaccination status.

“Those who are aged 18 and above who took their primary vaccine from Sinovac, and senior citizens aged 60 years and above who received any types of vaccine, need to get their booster dose to maintain complete vaccination status.

“This is because the previous set time of February 28 has now been extended until March 31, where the complete vaccination status will be incomplete if they have not received their booster dose,” he said.

He also added that children above the age of 13 will be allowed into stadiums if they have completed two doses of the vaccine.

Currently, the allowed spectators into venues will be limited to 50% of its capacity, or a maximum of 20,000.

MFL also advices adults aged 60 and above with underlying health conditions, and close contact individuals with symptoms to not attend matches.

In line with the current SOPs, no drinking and eating will be allowed in stadiums during matches. – The Vibes, March 4, 2022
