KUALA LUMPUR – National wheelchair para badminton ace Muhammad Ikhwan Ramli continued his sizzling performance as he secured his second title in Spain, this time at the Iberdola Spanish Para Badminton International today.

Fresh from winning the Spanish Para Badminton International II WH 1 last week, the second seeded Muhammad Ikhwan took 35 minutes to beat top seed Thomas Wandschneider 21-12, 21-16 in the tournament held in Cartagena.

This was Muhammad Ikhwan second successive victory over Thomas, having beaten him 22-20, 22-24, 21-17 at the Spanish Para Badminton International II in Vitoria on March 6.

However, Muhammad Ikhwan, who returned to the court later, missed out on an opportunity to win his second title of the day in the men’s doubles WH1-WH2.

Despite taking the first game 22-20, Muhammad Ikhwan and Noor Azwan Noorlan failed to maintain their domination in the next two games as they went down 19-21, 12-21 to Daiki Kajiwara-Keita Nishimura of Japan. – Bernama, March 14, 2022
