KUALA LUMPUR − National rider Jazeman Jaafar is targeting a podium finish in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) race which will start on April 17 in Le Castellet, France.

Jazeman, 29, who is with team Virage said the target was achievable if mistakes were avoided.

“The team is currently prepared and I will try to grab a podium position from early on in the race.

“What’s important is to have the right strategy and preparation to win. This is a very competitive race and if mistakes can be avoided, I think it is possible,” he told reporters after signing the Memorandum of Understanding to develop the Technology Transfer Apprenticeship Programme (TTAP) here yesterday.

Jazeman, who will be competing in the Le Mans Prototype 2 category at the race, will team up with French rider Gabriel Audry and US rider Rob Hodes for a series of races in the five countries.

Besides France, the ELMS race will also take place in Italy, Spain, Belgium and Portugal.

Earlier during the ceremony, Persona Energy Sdn. Bhd. and Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera inked a collaboration for the development of TTAP, a human capital development programme designed to enhance automotive skills as well as knowledge of local talents through motorsport apprenticeships. – Bernama, March 30, 2022
