KUALA LUMPUR – National racer Jazeman Jaafar is confident of a podium finish in round two of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) when it is held at the Imola Circuit, Italy from tomorrow until Sunday (May 13-15).

Jazeman, 29, who will be driving in Imola for the first time, is confident of achieving his target based on the simulation race held at the circuit with his team Virage.

“Preparation for the race was more focused on mileage as the ‘curbs’ at the Imola Circuit are different from the simulation, but the more laps we do, the better our rhythm will get.

“Our set-up is quite aggressive compared to other teams and is suitable for the Imola Circuit. InsyaAllah, with hard work we have the potential to win and fly the Jalur Gemilang on Sunday (May 15),” he said via an audio clip shared with the media today.

In April, Jazeman, who teamed up with French racer Gabriel Audry and American Rob Hodes in the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) category, finished round one of the ELMS at Le Castellet, France in 15th place.

Apart from France and Italy, the ELMS this year will also be held in Spain, Belgium and Portugal. – Bernama, May 13, 2022
