KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor U-21 player Muhammad Husni Idrus died after he was found unconscious at the Sunway X Park, Petaling Jaya at 10pm last night.
According to a statement by police, Husni was found lying on the floor near the restroom at the food court.
However, further investigations revealed that he was a football player for Selangor FC II in the President’s Cup and had earlier played in a match against Johor Darul Ta’zim III at the Kelana Jaya Sports Complex before heading to the Sunway X Park with some of his teammates.
Although the cause of death has yet to be confirmed, initial investigations show that he suffered from shortness of breath before collapsing. Husni has asthma according to his medical records.
In a social media post, Selangor FC sent their condolences to Husni’s family members.
The body was brought to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for autopsy as police classified it as sudden death. – The Vibes, May 26, 2022
