PETALING JAYA – In what appears to be a slight against Selangor FC, the Johor crown prince has taken to Instagram to air his criticism over alleged mismanagement of government funds.
Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who owns Johor Darul Ta’zim FC, remarked that if there is something wrong with the head, then one cannot expect the tail to be right.
“RM45 million of government money every year. Eight years of nothing but scamming your own fans.
“Eight years of insulting the old management but claiming credit for their successes.
“Eight years of being boastful. Eight years of being easily satisfied.
“Eight years of not owning up to mistakes. Eight years of creating hype but when failure knocks, you play victim or pretend people did things to you.
“Eight years of being managed by a scammer of government funds,” Tunku Ismail added.
It is believed that the prince’s criticism follows Selangor’s failure to advance to the Malaysia Cup semi-finals.
This defeat was despite the club having received RM45 million in state funding for the past eight years, as Tunku Ismail claimed.
