Nation’s number one sports retailer plan to open flagship standalone store, expand to 100 locations in the country

KUALA LUMPUR – Liverpool FC (LFC) have extended their partnership with Al-Ikhsan Sports into a multi-year renewal. 

The number one sports retailer in Malaysia, Al-Ikhsan Sports manage The Reds’ branded stores both online and offline. 

Senior vice president for merchandising at LFC, Mike Cox, said, “We are excited to continue working with Al-Ikhsan Sports, who are a great partner for us in Malaysia. 

“It means our growing fanbase in Malaysia can continue to get the latest official club merchandise on their doorstep,” he said in a statement. 

He also added that the partnership will be delivering exciting projects, with the first standalone LFC flagship store in Malaysia coming soon. 

Vach Pillutla, CEO at Al-Ikhsan Sports, said it is a great privilege and honour to get the partnership for a second consecutive term. 

“LFC is one of the most successful and iconic football clubs globally and has a massive growing base of fans in Malaysia. 

“Through this relationship we’ve had over the past three years, we have successfully brought the Anfield experience closer to the Malaysian fans,” he said. 

Pillutda also added that in the next phase, they plan to open a flagship standalone LFC  store and take the entire distribution to over 100 locations in the country. 

Meanwhile, The Reds also extended their partnership with Weston Corporation, the club’s official retail partner in Singapore, on a five-year extension. 

Weston Corporation currently operate LFC standalone stores at Bugis Junction and Queensway Centre, along with branded in shop locations as well as online. 

Sales director at Weston Corporation, Rajbir Chopra, said the corporation is a key player in the football and sports retail industry in Asia.
