GEORGE TOWN – Penang FC aim to keep up their winning momentum in their upcoming matches after defeating PDRM FC 4-2 in the Super League at the City Stadium here last night.

Assistant head coach Manzoor Azwira Abd Wahid said playing during the fasting month is not an easy thing because the players need enough energy to “battle” against their opponents.

“To be consistent is not easy. But the players and I will try our best,” he told reporters after the match.

Meanwhile, PDRM FC head coach, Azzmi Aziz said ‘individual errors’ caused the team's defeat.

“The players could not keep out the Panthers. Nevertheless, they tried their best,” he said.

He added that the Cops need to improve in attack to enable them to win the next match.

With last night’s victory, the Panthers managed to jump up two spots to eighth place in the Super League and are next scheduled to face Kelantan United FC on April 18 at the City Stadium.

The Cops who are in seventh place will meet defending champions and current league leaders  Johor Darul Ta’zim on April 19 at Stadium MBPJ. – Bernama, April 10, 2023
