IPOH – Not being at their best level was the reason for Perak FC’s failure to win three points at home in their Super League match against Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) yesterday.

Perak FC coach Yusri Che Lah said because of this, the squad had to absorb the pressure of the opposing team and the situation saw many mistakes made by the players.

“The players didn’t perform at their true level, resulting in not many good chances being created.

“We didn’t play like we did in the previous two games in Ipoh and KL City.

“I admit we didn’t play well, even though there was determination to get goals, especially in the second half by creating several chances.

“But it wasn’t enough to get a win or at least bring home a point,” he told reporters after the match last night.

In that match, The Bos Gaurus squad’s desire to maintain their winning streak at home was not achieved when they lost 0-4 to The City Boys at the Perak Stadium, Ipoh.

Yusri said in order for the team to collect points and be in a better position in the league standings, his men need to come up with a more energetic performance in the upcoming matches.

“After this, we will meet Sabah FC who are quite experienced, and I expect the players will increase their self-confidence and play to their true potential.

“There is no question of my players conserving energy for the Malaysia Cup competition (to meet Sabah), because for me in the Super League, we need to collect points to improve our position,” he said.

Meanwhile, KL City head coach Nenad Bacina was thankful to his team who had shown a great performance against Perak FC.

“We did enough to win the game. It was tough, as we know they (Perak) played well before this, and we defended well and kept a clean sheet.

“The team put up an impressive performance tonight, and we did collect three points here in Ipoh,” he said. – Bernama, August 28, 2023
