KUWAIT Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has confirmed a fire broke out in its Shuwaikh oil sector complex following a drone attack early on Sunday.

The Shuwaikh complex houses both the oil ministry and the headquarters of KPC.

Reuters, citing Kuwaiti state media, reported on Sunday that the drone, believed to have been launched by Iran, struck an office complex used by government ministries, causing substantial material damage but fortunately resulting in no injuries.

In a separate incident, two power generation units were also taken out of service when Iranian drones targeted power and water desalination plants in the country, according to Kuwait's electricity and water ministry.

The attack caused significant disruption to essential services, though no casualties were reported.

These strikes come amid escalating regional tensions, particularly as the U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran enters its sixth week.

Iran has retaliated by striking Israeli targets, and Gulf states hosting U.S. military installations have also been targeted.

Kuwaiti authorities have not yet confirmed the full extent of the damage or provided further details on the origin of the drones, and there has been no official response from Iran regarding the attacks.

As the conflict continues to unfold across the region, these incidents reflect the growing geopolitical instability affecting vital infrastructure across the Middle East. - April 5, 2026
