THE death toll from a Russian bombing of an aid distribution point in Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia region has risen to 53, making it one of the deadliest attacks on civilians this year, regional authorities said on Friday.
Reuters cited acting regional governor Mykhailo Semikin saying on Friday that search and rescue operations at the site in the village of Komyshuvakha had entered their fifth day.
In a post on Telegram, Semikin confirmed the latest death toll following Monday's strike.
Ukraine's Emergency Service had earlier reported 50 fatalities, saying rescue operations were continuing despite difficult conditions and the constant threat of further Russian attacks. - November 6, 2026
