Pilot dies in Philippine Air Force chopper crash

MANILA – Pilot Capt Aurelius Olalo died in a Philippine Air Force (PAF) helicopter crash in Getafe, Bohol, today.

Three other crew members sustained injuries.

Philippine news site Rappler reported that local police and PAF confirmed the crash, which occurred about 9.45am.

Getafe police chief Fernando Peroramas was quoted as saying initial reports indicate that the accident was due to a mechanical failure. 

The injured have been taken to President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Hospital.

This is the second PAF helicopter crash this year.
