KUALA LUMPUR – The official Twitter account for the United Nations based in Geneva has accidentally urged the global community to “incest in peace”, an apparent typo in one of its anti-war tweets.
Taken down since, the tweet had read “We want peace. Silence the guns. #StopWar #IncestInPeace”.
The post was supposedly intended for people to “invest in peace” – which was reposted correctly later.
Most social media users were first confused, but many were amused by the tweet which then led#incestinpeace to trend on Twitter.

Social media user @amuse was simply befuddled by the post
“Why is the UN promoting #IncestInPeace? Incest?”
Another user @fumofascism posted a meme of the post, alluding that the typo may be more than just a Freudian slip.
“#IncestInPeace so true, UN.”
Another Twitter user @delToro_Fella also posted a picture of Cersei and Jaime Lannister, the iconic incestuous siblings in the Game of Thrones series.
“Nothing else matters. #IncestInPeace.”
The typo had even caught the attention of Twitter owner Elon Musk, who jokingly questioned whether it was an honest mistake.
