SIX Malaysian companies have been named in the first pilot cohort of the Malaysian ASEAN Business Entity (MyABE) programme, an initiative designed to strengthen Malaysia’s corporate presence and investment links across ASEAN.

The announcement follows Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s remarks at the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) International Conference earlier today, where he underscored the MyABE initiative as a key element of Malaysia’s regional economic strategy.

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) said the pilot group comprises three public listed companies — CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, IHH Healthcare Berhad, and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad — under the MyABE-PLC category, and three mid-tier companies — Aonic Sdn Bhd, MECIP Global Engineers Sdn Bhd, and NSW Automation Sdn Bhd — under the MyABE-MTC category.

Originally introduced in the MADANI Budget 2026, the MyABE initiative recognises two tiers of participation: MyABE-PLC for established public listed corporations with significant regional operations, and MyABE-MTC for dynamic mid-tier firms with strong potential to expand across ASEAN markets.

SC Chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi said the MyABE status acknowledges Malaysian “champions” that are successfully growing beyond domestic borders and contributing to ASEAN’s economic ecosystem.

“Their expansion strengthens regional supply chains and drives growth for the wider region,” he said. “This pilot will enable us to fine-tune the support needed for more companies to do the same while easing skilled talent movement.”

The Securities Commission, with backing from the Malaysian Government, is coordinating the initiative to boost intra-ASEAN trade, investments, and corporate connectivity.

MyABE companies will be accorded a range of privileges and incentives to facilitate their expansion into and across ASEAN markets, in line with the ASEAN Business Entity (ABE) framework announced under the Fourth MADANI Budget 2026 on 10 October. - November 7, 2025
