IJM ‘free’ from MACC investigation, confirms probe limited to individuals
The company clarifies that a current probe is confined to certain individuals associated with the group - March 24, 2026

IJM Corp Bhd has moved to reassure investors and stakeholders that it is not the subject of an ongoing Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigation, clarifying that a current probe is confined to certain individuals associated with the group.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the company said it had received written confirmation from the MACC stating that the investigation does not involve IJM as a corporate entity, but is instead focused on several persons linked to the organisation.

The clarification comes amid scrutiny surrounding alleged weaknesses in corporate governance, procurement procedures, financial dealings and the ownership of overseas assets estimated at approximately RM2.5 billion.

As part of the inquiry, IJM’s non-executive chairman, Tan Sri Krishnan Tan, was previously called in for questioning.

IJM reiterated that it has extended full cooperation to the authorities and stressed that its business operations continue without disruption. It also underscored that the chairman is not involved in the company’s day-to-day management.

The group further pointed to its governance framework, highlighting the presence of an anti-bribery management system designed to ensure that all business activities are conducted with integrity and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Market reaction remained measured following the announcement, with IJM shares closing up 2.11 per cent, or five sen, at RM2.42 on trading volume of seven million shares. The company’s market capitalisation stood at approximately RM8.83 billion at the close. - March 24, 2026
