ALOR STAR – Owners of business premises in Kedah are reminded to place at least one employee in front of the premises to ensure customers comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) set, in line with the SOP for the retail sector announced recently.
State National Security Council (NSC) director Mohd Zawawi Zakaria said in monitoring conducted yesterday and today, it found that there were still owners of premises who were not complying with the SOP by giving the reason that they did not know it had been enforced.
“If the owners of the premises still fail to place an employee at the front to ensure customers comply with the SOP, they can be issued compounds,” he said when met after monitoring compliance with the SOPs of the movement control order (MCO) around the city today.
According to him, owners should assign a worker in front of their premises to keep track of the customers entering and exiting the place, to take their temperatures, ensure they wear face masks and only allow customers with “low-risk” status on the MySejahtera system to enter the premises.
Meanwhile, Zawawi said traders and customers of restaurants, eateries and stalls were also reminded not to set up tables for more than two people when eating in the premises.
He said continuous monitoring carried out by the state NSC found that among the most common violations of the SOP committed by the people were not wearing face masks properly and not using the MySejahtera app for scanning when entering business premises. – Bernama, February 11, 2021
