KUALA LUMPUR – Hong Seng Consolidated Bhd’s indirect subsidiary, Pantasniaga Sdn Bhd, has secured a contract worth RM112.32 million from the Health Ministry (MoH) to supply Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test kits.
In a statement yesterday, Hong Seng said Pantasniaga, a subsidiary of HS Bio Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Seng, will supply the test kits for the Institute for Medical Research and Public Health Laboratory in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
“This is the largest contract that Pantasniaga has received so far after securing a RM34.3 million contract from MoH on February 3, 2021.
“The contract shall commence on July 26 (Monday), 2021, and completed on July 25, 2022,” it said.
In a separate statement, Hong Seng executive director Christopher Chan said the latest contract win was another testament to the group’s strong commitment to enabling safe and effective Covid-19 testing in Malaysia.
“Previously, Pantasniaga has already performed and fulfilled a few supply contracts for MoH and other Malaysian government agencies to provide PCR test kits in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah to fight the virus outbreak,” he said.
The contract was expected to contribute positively to the overall future earnings as well as the earnings per share of the group, he added. – Bernama, July 23, 2021
