KUALA LUMPUR – Smallholders can claim the rubber production incentive (IPG) based on their yield last month, said the Malaysian Rubber Board.

The board, in a statement today, said payment in the peninsula is 10 sen per kg, while in Sabah and Sarawak, it is 40 sen and 35 sen per kg, respectively.

“Last month, the average farm-level price per kg of cuplump was RM2.40 for the peninsula, RM2.10 for Sabah and RM2.15 for Sarawak.”

Smallholders have until the end of the month to make their claims.

The IPG is activated when the average monthly price of SMR 20 free-on-board grade rubber is RM6.10 per kg, or the farm-gate price is RM2.50 per kg and below.

The incentive, provided by the federal government, is to aid smallholders when the price of the commodity is low. – Bernama, November 2, 2020
