KUALA LUMPUR – After opening on a positive note in the morning, the momentum on Bursa Malaysia witnessed a decline, pushing the local bourse into mixed mode. 

At 11.03 am, the benchmark FBM KLCI was 3.49 points lower at 1,608.23 compared with yesterday's close of 1,612.11.

The index opened 3.09 points higher at 1,615.20.

Across the broader market, gainers and losers were neck to neck at 466 to 476 while 461 counters were unchanged, 761 untraded and 88 others suspended.

Volume stood at 4.64 billion shares worth RM1.88 billion.

The decline was driven by sell down in several key companies as well as profit taking in several indices. 

On the top 30 companies listed on FBM KLCI, Petronas Dagangan slipped 32 sen to RM21.68, Public Bank dipped eight sen to RM18.64, Hong Leong Financial was 24 sen lower to RM16.02 and Hartalega was down eight sen to RM14.58. 

Among the actives, Kanger was up one sen to 19 sen, AT Systematization added half-a-sen to 20.5 sen, and Key Alliance was flat at six sen.

On the index board, the FBM Emas Index was 17.88 point lower at 549.76, the FBMT 100 Index shed 19.09 points to 11,1331.45, the FBM Emas Shariah Index inched down 1.34 points to 13,307.29, and the FBM 70 dipped 3.21 points to 14,765.85.

The FBM ACE meanwhile climbed 47.94 points to 10,649.24, the Industrial Products and Services Index picked up 1.56 points to 162.97, the Plantation Index shed 52.33 points to 7,298.04, and the Financial Services Index narrowed 56.22 points to 14,148.92. – Bernama, November 27, 2020
