Kuala Lumpur – Young artist Rudeen has cut across genres in his new single and music video 'Complicated’ (feat. Fvriz & Peakay Farhan).

In the song, Rudeen, whose real name is Muhammad Alif Ridhauddin Mohamad Yusof, had blended elements of rap and pop punk music, bringing a fresh take on the different styles of music.

The single and music video premiered on YouTube recently, along with other major streaming services.

According to the 25-year-old, the single and video took around two days to complete and was a break from his repertoire.

"’Complicated’ was written based on the point of view of a guy who had feelings for a popular girl," Rudeen, who hails from Kuantan, told The Vibes recently.

"You can say she's the famous type that everyone has been crushing on."

Rudeen added while the boy got the attention of his love interest, he did not confess his feelings because of his insecurities.

"So this guy is stuck between either confessing or keeping it the way it was," Rudeen explained.

"It's a high-stakes decision, so he's floating around these types of feelings, which is a true story I guess."

In the song, Rudeen had worked with another artiste, FVRIZ, who inspired him to complete the track after listening to popular American rap artist Machine Gun Kelly.

"In a short span of time, we finished the track and boom! We came up with 'Complicated'."

Rudeen also said this single had yet to be part of any extended play (EP) or full-length album as he was working on dozens of other collaborations.

The music video, which was produced by directors who go by the monikers Juicy Brain and EMG, also feature model and influencer Nia Atasha Rosli, also known as Sleepy Llama.
