WHILE most senior politicians would rather opt for a quiet retirement, the same cannot be said of former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The nation's ninth premier recently posted on Facebook that he has once again become a varsity student, this time at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
“Alhamdulillah, today I got my student card. Officially, today I became a student. Never thought I could be a student again at this age.
“This is what is called lifelong learning,” the 64-year-old said in a post on Facebook.
He also posted his UUM student card with his full name and photograph.
However, he did not state which course he is pursuing.
Ismail Sabri served as prime minister of Malaysia from 2021 to 2022 and is currently the Bera MP, a legislative position he has held since 2004.
According to his biodata on Wikipedia, he had majored in law at Universiti Malaya in the early 1980s.
