UNIVERSITI Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Selangor is investigating claims that hostel room placements at its Puncak Alam campus were being sold.
The allegations, which recently went viral on Threads, involved rooms at Casuarina Residential College.
UiTM Selangor said campus management is taking the matter seriously and is gathering information to establish whether the claims were substantiated.
“Any action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation and the university’s prevailing regulations,” it said in a statement.
The university reminded students that they were not permitted to sell, transfer or exchange their residential college placements with other parties.
All applications and arrangements involving accommodation must be made through the official channels and procedures set by UiTM.
Students were also urged to be cautious of unauthorised or suspicious offers for hostel placements to avoid falling victim to scams.
Those found to have breached university regulations could face disciplinary action, it said.
UiTM Selangor also called on students with information about the alleged sale of room placements to report it through the university’s official channels.
It said their cooperation was important in safeguarding the security, welfare and integrity of the residential college community. – September 11, 2026
