THE Education Ministry has ordered an immediate halt to all programmes involving an independent speaker following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving students.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the decision was made to allow the matter to be properly investigated.

She said the ministry was aware of several allegations concerning the speaker, who had previously conducted programmes involving pupils at schools.

“The allegations are serious as they concern the safety and protection of pupils.

“I have instructed the Education Ministry to obtain further information on the matter,” she said in a statement today.

Fadhlina also urged anyone with information to lodge a police report to assist the investigation.

Her statement came amid a series of social media posts making allegations against the speaker, including claims of paedophilic behaviour and that students had been victimised.

Fadhlina said reports to the authorities were crucial to ensuring children received the necessary protection and support.

She stressed that the safety of pupils must be taken seriously and that the welfare of children under the care of schools could not be compromised. - October 1, 2026
