KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 1,000 Kg Muhibbah residents got their Covid-19 vaccinations through the MyMedic@Wilayah mobile truck today.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the pilot programme gives priority to the elderly and disabled who have received appointment dates via their MySejahtera app.

“This effort is to ensure that communities get faster access to the Covid-19 vaccine, especially among high-density communities in public housing.

“It is a proactive step to speed up the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.”

The mobile vaccination truck initiative, which begins on June 15, will be able to administer jabs to city folk at a rate of 15,000 to 20,000 doses per day.

It is among the seven initiatives to ensure that 80% of residents here are fully vaccinated by the end of August.

Two MyMedic@Wilayah mobile trucks will be used and each can hold 500 doses at one time.

“The truck is open from 9am until 4pm, and strict standard operating procedures will be observed. The authorities and volunteer personnel are tasked with curbing congestion and ensuring physical distancing among recipients.”

The government is targeting October for the completion of the immunisation programme for People’s Housing Project (PPR) and public housing residents in the Federal Territories.
