Light rain in the morning did not stop police, army officers from exercising their voting rights

JOHOR BARU – Members of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), as well as their spouses, exercised their voting rights at 63 polling centers today.
Early voting for the Johor state elections began at 8am, with about 81% of the 22,000 eligible voters having fulfilled their responsibilities as at 3pm this afternoon.
The voting process was reported to have been smooth, in full compliance with standard operating procedures in the new norms.
A total of 239 candidates are vying for 56 seats in the Johor polls. Polling day has been set for this Saturday (March 12).
Johor is the latest state to hold state elections after Sabah, Melaka and Sarawak.
