WITH carefully chosen quality raw ingredients, the exclusive candle collection Osynlig is developed in collaboration with Ikea and Ben Gorham, founder of Byredo.

The highly anticipated and affordable Osynlig, which means ‘invisible’ in Swedish, is divided into three categories – fresh, floral, and woody.

There are 13 scented candles, designed to evoke different emotions while reflecting the ever-changing moods of the home.

“Smell is an important element of the home as it creates a sense of comfort and security. We believe in the evocative, emotional potential of smell that translates memories into products.

“Osynlig is an excellent opportunity to expound on using simple, raw ingredients and striking minimalist packaging, hoping there’s one scent that’ll suit everyone’s space,” said Gorham.

Available in hand-made ceramic pots, each pot is glazed with a blend of two colours that represent its ingredients. The triangle-shaped marking on each pot depicts a popular way people understand fragrance – as a combination of top notes, which you smell first; middle notes, which comes next and last longer; and base notes, which form the bottom of the triangle and remain for the entire duration of the fragrance.

Affordably priced between RM24.90-RM129 per unit, each variant comes in three different sizes. These candles are known to create memorable fragrances that evoke different moods. The variants can even be burnt at once to create a unique scent.

“With a strong representation of a contemporary lifestyle, these unique candles from the Osynlig collection will allow more Malaysians to discover the correlation between smell and their homes.

“Whether they are planning to unwind, soothe different senses or prep for a celebration, it is no secret that scented candles can boost a certain mood. This limited collection is one of the many humbling ways in which we are helping the many people make home count.

"Of these 13 scents, we trust there is really something for everyone,” said Ikea Southeast Asia country retail director (My) Gerard Jansen.

Ensuring nothing goes to waste, the pots can be reused to store small items or as a decorative piece around the home. This limited collection will be available at Ikea Damansara, Ikea Cheras, and Ikea Batu Kawan from February 25, to be followed by Ikea.my from March 1.

It will soon be made available at Ikea Tebrau. – The Vibes, February 17, 2021
