PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle have finally shared the first photo of their daughter Lilibet Diana, six months after her birth, for this year's Christmas card.
In the photo, Harry, Meghan and Archie are dressed decidedly casual, in ripped denim jeans, with the Duchess in a sweater, and the Duke and son in simple shirts. Lilibet is dressed in all white. The portrait was done by Alexi Lubomirski, who shot the couple's engagement photos and the official family portraits on their wedding day.
In addition to showing off their daughter for the first time, this is also the first time they have allowed Archie's face to be shown in public since his first birthday. After that, Harry and Meghan only released pictures of the youngster from behind.
The couple, now residing in the US, released the card as part of an announcement they were donating to several charities, including an organisation that supports Afghan families left behind after the US withdrawal and Paid Leave For All – a topical issue in their adopted country.
'This year we welcomed out daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a "Mama and Papa" and Lili made us a family,' their message read. 'As we look forward to 2022 we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families - from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American famiilies in need of paid parental leave.'
In a nod to their move away from the UK, the couple said 'Happy Holidays' instead of 'Merry Christmas' – the former phrase is preffered in the US.
